What Is It About:
This workshop is created to build on the national conversation regarding resources for stress injury and psychological first aid for ski patrols and mountain rescuers. Discussion will include current trends and innovations in patrol, avalanche rescue and preparation for curriculum inclusion for refreshers.
Who Should Attend:
Patrollers, forecasters, and patrol leadership interested in joining the national conversation and gaining resources for creating common language and recognition of stress injuries as well as resources for mitigation in the winter rescue setting.

Laura McGladrey is a clinician at the Stress Trauma Adversity, Research and Treatment Clinic and the Emergency Department at University of Colorado. She works nationally with ski patrols and rescues, and in the national parks. She frequently speaks at conference and guides policy on best practice for debriefing and pre-incident support as well as organizational resilience for wilderness organizations. She is a founder of Responder Alliance (www.responderalliance.com ) and works closely with Responder Strong (www.responderstrong.org) She continues to support emergency responders, such as Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement and climbing rangers sustain ‘green’ across the across the arc of their careers.
