Mountain rescue ASSOCIATION teams

Responder Alliance is the leading resource in stress resilience education for first responders and outdoor professionals. We recommend all responders receive training as a universal precaution against burnout and traumatic stress injury, and have partnered with the MRA to bring you and your team discounted training.

Training for Individual Rescuers

The Responder Alliance Level 1 training courses are recommended as universal precautions for all mountain rescuers. Click below to learn more about the training, and use the buttons to register for yourself with code MRA15.

  • This course introduces a system for assessing and caring for patients experiencing overwhelm or trauma. It covers assessment and gives tangible actions for meaningful field-based care. We introduce a novel continuity-of-care protocol to support patients in the hours, days, and weeks after the event.

    • Resources for patient and rescuer post-incident

    • Implementation Support

    Recommended for: anyone who may respond to incidents as part of their occupation, with a focus on first responders, resilience teams, caregivers and dispatch.

  • This training covers industry-leading stress injury prevention and mitigation tools, with an aim of supporting long and vital careers through stress resilience.

    Stress Injury Awareness curriculum includes:

    • Common language and self-awareness to increase understanding of how stress impacts us

    • Risk management tools for preventing, recognizing, and responding to stress injury

    • Training on the stress continuum

    • Creating an individualized resilience plan

    Recommended for: anyone who may respond to incidents as part of their occupation, with a focus on first responders and outdoor professionals.

Discounted Training for MRA Teams

Together our goal is to advance best practices for training and utilization of stress injury mitigation tools for mountain rescue teams. We recommend starting with our level 1 courses (above) for all responders. Team Memberships are also available at a discount to provide additional structure and implementation support.
