PSYCHOLOGICAL FIRST AID

Understanding Psychological First Aid is a key
part of protecting our patients and our teams.

Psychological First Aid (PFA) is a simple, field-based system used to support patients who are experiencing distress or trauma. It’s not designed to replace clinical care, but allows us to intervene on scene, enabling early mitigation of stress.

Responders consistently tell us that working with a subject’s family, friends, or witnesses is often what ‘sticks with them’ long after an incident. Proper training protects us, which allows us to continue protecting our patients over long careers.

Responder Alliance offers online and live training on Psychological First Response, and is the only training center that teaches our tools for support before, during, and after the incident. You can click here to learn more about this course, or click here to register online now.

Training on Psychological First Response is recommended for all responders, regardless of industry or role.
